Library Rules and Regulation:

The SBSF B.Ed. & D.El.Ed. College Library is a knowledge resource centre that houses a huge number of books, national and international journals, magazines, project reports, Govt. reports, subject dictionaries, fiction and non-fiction books, biographies, career guide books, ready references and previous years’ question papers— both online and offline. With extensive cataloguing and written down records, students are provided with a vast and user-friendly index to choose from.

  • ✔ The library will remain closed on holidays listed in the Academic Calendar.
  • ✔ All online resources can be accessed 24x7.
  • ✔ Any change in the library timings will be notified in advance.

  • All students, teaching and non-teaching staff are members of the library.
  • Keep silence inside the Library.
  • Keep personal belongings and bags on the shelves.
  • The use of cell phone and other devices is prohibited inside the library.
  • The college uniform rules fully apply within the Library.
  • Only those members with valid Library cards will be allowed to borrow books.
  • Student should not enter the stacks area without permission of Librarian.
  • Students can borrow a maximum of 5 books at a time for 15 days.
  • Faculty can borrow a maximum of 10 books at a time for 30 days.
  • Other members can borrow maximum 3 books at a time for 30 days.
  • Reference books such as Encyclopedias , Dictionaries and non-book materials such as journals, magazines and newspapers are not issued for a loan.
  • The member who will damage or disfigure any books such as writings in the book, tearing page or any form of defacement is liable to pay the penalty amount to be fixed by the college authority.
  • Students of the final semester/ final year must return all the borrowed books 15 days before the commencement of the final examination and collect a library clearance certificate.
  • The librarian may recall any book from any member at any time and the member shall return the same immediately.
  • Use an online public access catalogue (OPAC) to retrieve bibliographical information.
  • User should obey the Library rules and regulations. Violation of rules and any act of misbehaviour will lead to strong disciplinary action.

OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue): Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) or simply a Library Catalogue is a digital database of materials such as text files, e-books, journals, etc held by a library. SBSF college library provides this facility with in the college campus through mobile, laptop and desktop by connecting free WIFI service. Members can use the online library cataloguing system to find out any item which is available in the library. It displays the query search results in an easy-to-understand format to enable Members to find material quickly.

Lending Services: As per the library rules, the books or other resources can be issued or checked in as per the following limitations.

Reference service traditionally has been offered in person at a designated desk within the library building, over the telephone, and through correspondence. More recently, the library has expanded to offer reference services electronically via e-mail and whatsapp. SBSF library has a separate and varied collection of references which include dictionaries, encyclopaedias, career guides, periodicals, newspapers, textbooks etc. The library users can approach the library desk in order to access references and reserve materials for their requirements inside the library premises. However, they are not eligible to carry those materials outside the library premises under any circumstances.
